Ever-Present Help

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy. At Thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

God is not present passively but actively and guides with His eye upon us (Psalm 32:8). Realizing God’s omnipresence brings security and encouragement. Knowing we have an ever-present protector, Father and friend ready to guide at all times brings confidence in the darkest of circumstances.

Psalm 139:7-12 Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee; but the night shineth as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee.

God comes particularly close to those that are downhearted and regretful. He is a refuge, strength and present help during trouble. (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 46:1)
