Numbers 6:24-26 May the Lord bless you and guard you. May the Lord's face enlighten you and bestow favor on you. May the Lord turn to face yo, lavishing peace on you! O Lord, cause your face to shine upon me this day. I pray for faith, increase my faith that I may not only be safe but joyful and triumphant in Your strength. |
January 28, 2025(1 event) January 28, 2025 ![]() Philippians 1:2 May grace and peace from God our Father the the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours! John 14:27 I am leaving you at peace. I am giving you my own peace. I am not giving it to you as the world gives. So don't let your hearts be troubled, and don't be afraid. John 20:19 Jesus came among them (the fearful disciples) "Peace be with you." Philippians 4:6-7 Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving. |
January 29, 2025(1 event) January 29, 2025 ![]() In spiritual warfare it is "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4:6 Drawing upon His all-sufficient grace, you should not be easily discouraged or anxious. Yield to Him entirely for whatever His will may be. It is not what we give to Jesus but what we take from Him that makes us strong and victorious daily. |

January 31, 2025(1 event) January 31, 2025 ![]() Psalm 46:8-10 Come, observe the mighty works of the Lord, who causes desolation in the earth. He causes wars to cease all over the earth, He causes the bow to break, the spear to snap, the chariots to ignite and burn. Be in awe and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted throughout the earth. Stand in awe of God. Be assured of lasting peace. Worship and trust in our almighty Sovereign in submissive silence. Know that He will be our refuge. Take comfort in him, for if God be for us, who can be against us? With this, let us answer every fear through life and death. Romans 8:31-32 If God is for us, who can be against us? The One who did not spare His own Son, but offered Him as a sacrifice for all of us, surely will give us all things, along with His Son. |
February 1, 2025(1 event) February 1, 2025 ![]() Psalm 139:23-24 Search me O God and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Heart According to the Bible, the heart is the center of spiritual activity and all the operations of human life. It is the core of our being and "the wellspring of life." (Proverbs 4:23). From the heart comes grief, desires, joy, understanding, thoughts and reasoning, faith and belief. Choices and decisions flow out of what is in your heart. It should be guarded (Proverbs 4:23), for as the water reflects the face, one's life reflects the heart. (Proverbs 27:19) This month, February, my theme will be about The Heart. As I've written in earlier posts, the heart yearns for unconditional love that God can provide. It is then strengthened by His presence there and consumed with reverence and godly fear. Out of the Heart Comes Love 1 John 4:19 We love because God first loved us. With sincere love, not in word and tongue only, but inwardly in truth With strong love. He that is our all must have our all, and none but He With excellent love, we must love God above any creature, whatever, and love nothing but what we love for Him. With an intelligent love. To love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, we must see good cause to love Him With an entire love, He is ONE; our hearts must be united in His love. The heart and its thoughts must be made right before the actions of life can be set right. May this love of God be shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:8) Explore the recesses of your heart. God can see through all our disguises anyway. |
February 2, 2025(1 event) February 2, 2025 ![]() Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Jesus' words of His grace and all the power that goes along with them are wonderful. It is Wonderful that He speaks them to fallen flesh bound by guilt and corruption. By His grace, we may be loosed from these bonds. He came by the word of His gospel to bring light to those in darkness and, by the power of His grace, to give sight to those who are blind. He is sent to comfort all who mourn and seek Him, not the world, for comfort. Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken hearts and binds up their wounds. Praise the Lord for His grace to outcast sinners, for He brings them into His holy haven. He speaks peace to those who will hear it and assures them that their sins are forgiven. As clouds look dark and melancholy, they provide rain and, therefore, fruit. Our afflictions look bleak and unpleasant, but the grace of Jesus Christ turns our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and makes the soul yield peaceable fruits of righteousness. Praise the Lord, for He heals the brokenhearted. Psalm 91:4-5 With His feathers He will cover you, under His wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor. You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day. |
February 3, 2025(1 event) February 3, 2025 ![]() Psalm 51:10 God, create a pure heart in me and renew a right spirit within me. In this Psalm, David now sees more than ever what an unclean heart he had and sadly laments it, but he sees it is not in his power to amend it and therefore begs God to create a clean heart in him. He feels change is necessary and searches for the promise of God to that purpose and asks Him for it. David knew his sin grieved the Holy Spirit and provoked Him to withdraw. This he dreaded more than anything. He prayed for Divine comfort to be restored, for he was weak and without joy. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Hebrews 9:22 Without shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. A pure heart must be cleansed from sin as the blood of Christ is applied to my soul by a lively faith. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and look! All things have become new! Psalm 24:3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His Holy Place? What shall I do, that I may abide in that happy, holy place, where He makes His people holy and content? I can be cleansed from my sins and renewed unto holiness by the blood of Jesus Christ and the washing of the Holy Spirit. Then I am one of His and will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of my salvation. I will be made truly and forever content and joyful in this alone. |
February 4, 2025(1 event) February 4, 2025 ![]() Psalm 73:25-28 Whom have I in heaven but You? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside You. My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Psalm 73 is a testimony of Asaph grieving over the prosperity of the wicked. As he struggles with his anger towards this injustice, he cries out to God for understanding and finds victory over his envy. He begins to understand God's purpose. In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon complains that all life is vanity. 1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. If you know about Solomon's life, you know that he had everything anyone could want in the world. Yet he found that it was all weariness and vexing to his spirit. He saw all wickedness and misery; the more he understood this, the more he lamented and mourned. Realizing that nothing in this world can truly satisfy is very painful. Draw near to the One who knows your heart, knows your every need, and you will never want for a thankful heart towards Him. To draw near to God is our wisdom, honor, safety, peace, and riches. There is nothing desirable except God; let us desire only Him. All other things must pass away; let our hearts abide in Him, who alone abides forever. Turn from the glitter of wealth and honor that fascinates to true gold of peace found in the presence and love of God. "Whatever weakens your reasoning, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God, or takes away your relish for spiritual things, in short—if anything increases the authority and the power of the flesh over the Spirit, that to you becomes sin however good it is in itself.” Susanna Wesley |
February 5, 2025(1 event) February 5, 2025 ![]() Psalm 9:1 I will praise Thee O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all Thy marvelous works. I always feel like I'm on the edge of something, either the edge of being good or bad, the edge of understanding something but never getting it, the edge of figuring out a mystery but not being allowed to know the truth. And then I feel far from understanding what God is doing with me - if anything. There is a fear that He may have no more use for me at this stage. I have felt like one of a million in a sea of faces. But I believe, unwaveringly, in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, my Creator and Redeemer, and I am wonderfully reminded that He knows my name. Isaiah 43:1b Do not be afraid, because I've redeemed you. I've called you by name; you are Mine. Jeremiah 1:5 I knew you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart for me before you were born; Praise the Lord in sincerity with our whole heart. Remember His mercies and give thanks. Take joy in the Giver of good gifts and of the Redeemer in His triumphs. The almighty power of God goes before us and conquers the enemy. By faith, we may flee to Him as our Refuge and depend on His power and promise for our safety. Rejoice in His word of promise and rest upon that. If you know Him to be an everlasting Father, you will trust Him with your soul as your care and trust in Him at all times, even to the end. Hebrews 13:5-6 He will never leave you nor forsake you. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Continually seek Him with your whole heart in the entire course of your life. He is worthy of all praise and glory. |
February 6, 2025(1 event) February 6, 2025 ![]() Ezekiel 36:26-27 I'm going to give you a new heart, and I'm going to give you a new spirit within all of your deepest parts. I'll remove that rock-hard heart of yours and replace it with one that's sensitive to Me. I'll place my spirit within you, empowering you to live according to my regulations and to keep my just decrees. God is awesome in that He knows our hearts and fills them with His Spirit, which will make a difference in how we act and make decisions. Learn to yield your heart to the Holy Spirit, and you will see His ways and thoughts becoming your own. 1 John 1:7 But if we keep living in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. John 3:3-5 Truly, I tell you emphatically, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God. To be born again is to begin to live a new. We must have a new nature, principles, affections, and aims. I desire faith that overcomes "the will of the flesh" that dwells within me, whose workings make it painfully manifest in my inward conflict with the carnal mind. I desire victory over the flesh, the profanity and sin and treachery working all around me. If I follow the Lord fully and yield myself wholly to what God in Christ is ready to do, I shall find in the gospel and in Christ everything that I need for a life of joy, strength, and final victory. Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Find peace in your conscience by accepting this Gospel grace and conforming your mind to His. You will become patient, humble, kind, and peaceable instead of being profane, contentious, selfish, or carnal. 2 Corinthians 3:18 As all of us reflect the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, we are becoming more like Him with ever-increasing glory by the Lord's Spirit. A yielded heart led by the Holy Spirit can expect to profit from the teaching of this Word and truly know Jesus Christ in His divine saving power. |
February 7, 2025(1 event) February 7, 2025 ![]() Psalm 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God: yes, Your law is within my heart. Philippians 1:20 I rejoice because I eagerly expect and hope that I will have nothing to be ashamed of, because through my boldness the Messiah will be exalted through me, now as always, whether I live or die. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. Those who have true faith live by that faith, and faith fastens upon Christ's giving Himself for us. He loved me and gave Himself for me. The more simply the believer relies on Jesus for everything, the more devotedly he walks before Him in all His Word. Faith in the Son of God works by love, causes obedience, and changes into His holy image. God's grace is, therefore, not abused or made in vain. Taste and see God's goodness; take notice and take the comfort of it. He makes all truly blessed that trust in Him. It is Jesus and God's word as my heart's treasure. It is worth laying up. It is the opened door to the Father's heart, the treasure chamber of God. Every heart longs for truth. It also longs to be made free of sin. That I might not sin against Thee. God's word speaks to you. Listen to how He tells you how to live a heavenly life. Consider Jesus; you will find all the heavenliness you need in Him. God's word will bring real life and blessing and be the power of fellowship with Him. Hebrews 12:2 Fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, given the joy set before Him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Taste the sweetness of God's word today and make it your own. |
February 8, 2025(1 event) February 8, 2025 ![]() 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory in the face of Jesus the Messiah. But we have this treasure in clay jars to show that its extraordinary power comes from God and not from us. In every way, we are troubled but not crushed, frustrated but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed. In all your thoughts of your Creator and your Redeemer, in all your efforts to know Him by His Son, remember that the true knowledge of God is something above sense and reason. God reveals Himself to the longing heart as the light shines on the opened eye created for it. The light and spirit of heaven can fill all our hearts. Let my whole heart be opened to Him, to receive, as a flower does the sun's light, His secret, mighty, divine working in me. I trust this omnipotent God to work out in me His every promise, and I hold fast to the light, blessing, and joy of each one. As light was the beginning of the first creation, so in the new creation, the light of the Spirit is His first work upon the soul. The treasure of gospel light and grace is put into earthen vessels. Matthew Henry In the beginning, "Let there be light! and there was light," was spoken then and is spoken now with creative power in God's Son, and the presence and the light of Him become the life and the light of the soul. Isaiah 9:1 |
February 9, 2025(1 event) February 9, 2025 ![]() Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. I want to address you today as Paul does in verse 1 of Philippians 4: Dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown - stand fast in the Lord! Take these words to your heart and know they were meant for you. Now go to verse 6 and realize that you can be anxious for nothing because (verse 7) the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Grasp this peace and let it flow over you and through you. Meditate on it all day. He will bring you into His rest. Enjoy the Peace: which through the Son, God also reconciled all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, thereby making peace through the blood of His Cross - Colossians 1:20 Which was proclaimed - He came and proclaimed peace for you who were far away and for you who were near. - Ephesians 2:17 Which was given - I am leaving you at peace. I am giving you my own peace. I am not giving it to you as the world gives. So don't let your hearts be troubled, and don't be afraid. - John 14:27 Which was realized that He is our peace - For it is He who is our peace. Ephesians 2:14 Which fills our hearts and says "Peace but unto you, Fear Not!" - Judges 6:23 The peace of God, the satisfied sense of being reconciled to God and having a part in His favor, and the hope for heavenly blessings represents a greater good than can be fully expressed. This peace will keep us from sinking under trials and troubles with calm and inward satisfaction. Find peace in your heart by turning to the God of peace |
February 10, 2025(1 event) February 10, 2025 ![]() Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my Redeemer. David, the Psalmist, begins this psalm declaring glory to God for His revelations of the heavens day and night. They proclaim His wisdom, power, and goodness, proven by the counter-changing of day and night so that all who witness it are left without excuse. The heavens and all they contain constantly glorify Him, from the sun's rising and setting in the day to the moon and the stars following their path in the night. All who witness these never-changing events see and understand his eternal power and divine nature. David then praises God for His perfect, steadfast, and pure law, which opens our eyes to His wisdom and drives us to His throne of grace, where we can worship. I pray my heart would be much affected by the excellence of the word of God so that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart would be filled with thoughts of His glorious reality and that they lead to words and actions that are pleasing to Him at all times. He only can be my Rock and my salvation; I am nothing without Him, and I will look to Him with a fixed heart. Practise the presence of God with stillness of heart. Psalm 62:5 My soul, be quiet before God, for from Him comes my hope. He is the living God that speaks, gives, works, and reveals Himself in His creation. His presence strengthens and satisfies our faith, which wakens and grows bold in His glorying hope. He only can be my Rock and my salvation; I am nothing without Him; I will look to Him with a fixed heart. (Psalm 57:7) Meditation and prayer are blessed means of strengthening faith and hope. |
February 11, 2025(1 event) February 11, 2025 ![]() Ezekiel 36:26-27 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Galatians 5:22-23 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. The fruits of the Spirit, which represent our renewed nature, are essential for us to cultivate. These fruits aim to foster harmony among Christians and promote their happiness. They clearly demonstrate that individuals led by the Spirit embody these qualities. It is important to cherish and nurture the fruits of the Spirit. What truly makes us happy? We must earnestly strive to put to death the deeds of the body and embrace a life renewed in Christ. This involves avoiding the desire for vain glory or an excessive longing for the approval of others. We should not provoke or envy one another but, instead, seek to cultivate an abundance of good fruits that glorify God through Jesus Christ. The fruits of the Spirit plainly show that the Spirit leads such. |
February 12, 2025(1 event) February 12, 2025 ![]() Isaiah 42:1-3 Here is my servant, whom I support, my chosen one, in whom I delight. I've placed my Spirit upon Him, and He'll deliver His justice through the world. He won't shout, or raise His voice, or make it heard in the street. A crushed reed He will not break, and a fading candle He won't snuff out. He'll bring forth justice for the truth. At the time of Jesus Christ's birth, there was nothing to give hope or relief to darkened humanity. There was a longing for relief from its condition of despondency and failure. There was a heart cry of the universe under the bondage of spiritual death for a Redeemer. And today, that longing still exists for God's servant, His chosen one who will deliver justice throughout the world. We long for One who will not shout or raise His voice, One who will not break us or quench a fire burning within. One in whom can be found rest for their distressed souls. Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29) This supports our faith in that God the Father, the One offended by our sin, is so well pleased with the work of redemption. And what a comfort it is to see God's love rest on Jesus Christ and be pleased in Him; we may gather that He is pleased with us as well if we are believers in His Son. |
February 13, 2025(1 event) February 13, 2025 ![]() Joy is a deep, abiding inner rejoicing promised to those who abide in Christ. John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. Joy does not depend on circumstances because it rests in God's sovereign control. Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God, that is, for those who are called according to His purpose, all things are working together for good. Nehemiah 8:10: The joy of the Lord is your strength. C.S. Lewis defines joy as, ...an unsatisfied desire, which is itself more desirable than any other satisfaction. I call it Joy, which is here a technical term and must be sharply distinguished both from happiness and from pleasure. Joy (in my sense) has indeed one characteristic, and one only, in common with them; the fact that anyone who has experienced it will want it again. Lewis, C S. Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life. 1955. San Francisco, Harperone, 2017. How can we experience joy when our world seems to be falling apart, and there is pain and suffering? We begin by remembering that joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit; therefore, we realize any joy we find will spring forth from a heart that the Holy Spirit indwells. Psalm 16:11 Thou will show me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand, there are pleasures forevermore. I have longed for this 'fullness of joy' since I was very young and found this verse. During tribulation and sadness, I have struggled to understand how there could be any joy in this life. James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But let endurance have its full effect so you may mature and complete, lacking nothing. A joyful heart may seem impossible during trials, but as you pray through your affliction, ask for wisdom to use it correctly. Pray for wisdom that will guide you through the managing of your Spirit and the management of your adversity. Ask! and it shall be given. He will provide you with the ability to rise above trials and opposition. Keep steady in your mind. The spiritual and eternal value of afflictions and wisdom will be found. 1 Peter 1:6-9 You greatly rejoice in this, even though you have to suffer various kinds of trial for a little while, so that your genuine faith, which is more valuable than gold that perishes when tested by fire, may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with indescribable and glorious joy because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. The Christian's joy is remembering the happiness laid up for him, which is incorruptible; it cannot be taken away. In your darkest days of overwhelming sadness and grief, God's joy is there if you choose it over bitterness, anger, and sorrow. Choose joy every day - no matter what. Romans 15:13 Now may God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace as you believe, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
February 14, 2025(1 event) February 14, 2025 ![]() Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed Me; He has sent Me to bring good news to the oppressed and to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners. Jesus Christ's mission was to comfort all who mourn and seek Him for comfort. See the gracious way He performs these tasks: Matthew 5:3 How blessed are those who are destitute in spirit, because the kingdom from heaven belongs to them! Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 9:36 While traveling throughout the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness. He saw the crowds; he was deeply moved with compassion for them because they were troubled and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He is a meek King who will admit mourners into His presence, a King of the poor and afflicted with a majestic heart of mercy and compassion. He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and One who understands temptation (Hebrews 2:18) There is one God. There is also one mediator between God and human beings - a human, The Messiah Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5) He died so that He might heal our souls and save us. Hebrews 4:16 So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. |
February 15, 2025(1 event) February 15, 2025 ![]() Peace is inner repose and quietness, even in adverse circumstances; it defies human understanding. Enjoy the Peace which our Divine Substitute has made: Colossians 1:20 And, having made Peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. and preached: and given: and realize that He is our Peace: and that His Peace fills our hearts: and keeps: and rules our hearts: The enjoyment of this Peace comes when He speaks Peace to our hearts "Peace be unto you, Fear not" |
February 16, 2025(1 event) February 16, 2025 ![]() Patience is the quality of forbearance under provocation. It entertains no thoughts of retaliation, even when wrongfully treated. 2 Corinthians 6:4-6 In every way, we demonstrate that we are God's servants by tremendous endurance amid difficulties, hardships, and calamities; in beatings, imprisonments, and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger; with purity knowledge, patience, and kindness; with the Holy Spirit, love. Colossians 1:11 You are being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you might patiently endure everything with joy. The grace of God in the hearts of believers is God's power; there is glory in this power. The special use of this strength was for suffering. There is work to be done, even when we are suffering. All trials will soon end, and every believer will be found among those who come out of great tribulation. Colossians 3:12-13 Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Be tolerant of one another and forgive each other if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also should forgive. Romans 5:1-4 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Responding Wisely to Life James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But you must let endurance have its full effect so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Working through trying times with patience, ponder the problem, and seek God's direction. Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city. "When the picture of our life ministry is not all we think it ought to be, perhaps the Master Artist is rescuing us from something far worse and preparing us for something far better." To see burdens transformed into blessings takes much patience. Discover your identity in Christ on this path. He will make you into a godly visionary who "sees the invisible, chooses the imperishably, and does the impossible." Vance Havner Measure your problems by the greatness of God, not by your weaknesses and inexperience. Problems are possibilities, and obstacles are opportunities. No problems = no progress. Nor friction = no motion. |
February 17, 2025(1 event) February 17, 2025 ![]() Romans 2:4 Are you unaware of His rich kindness, forbearance, and patience, that God's kindness is leading you to repent? Kindness is love in action, as God demonstrated toward men. Ephesians 2:7-10 So that in the coming ages, He might display the limitless riches of His grace that come to us through His kindness in the Messiah Jesus. For by such grace, you have been saved through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God and the result of actions to put a stop to all boasting, for we are God's masterpiece created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life. Have you ever noticed how much of Jesus' life was spent doing kind things? He was kind to others. His kindness was His love in action and is infallibly remembered. Since God is kind toward sinners, a Christian should display the same virtue. 2 Cor 6:6 with purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness; with the Holy Spirit, genuine love, truthful speech, and divine power; through the weapons of righteousness in the right and left hands; Col 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. "I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." 1 Corinthians 13 Love suffers long and is kind Kindness is an ingredient you need in your life. Kindness is eternal and worth giving time to. As you look back over your life, the moments that stand out are when you have done things in a spirit of love and kindness. Let every act of kindness be laid at God's feet as a sacrifice to Him. For with such sacrifices, God is well pleased. They are to Him a sweeter savor than the sweetest incense. And as we offer them to Him in faith, they will bring our hearts the assurance that we are well-pleasing Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in Jesus Christ. |
February 18, 2025(1 event) February 18, 2025 ![]() Goodness In Psalm 23:6, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. David refers to goodness and mercy following him throughout his life. He speaks of these two as if they were companions walking with him on his life's path. He dwells with this goodness and mercy "all the days of his life," the dark days as well as the bright. If there is any good in us, it is because of the good pleasure of God's grace. Goodness is the uprightness of the soul and an action that reaches out to others to do good even when it is not deserved. It is virtue and holiness in action with a desire to be a blessing. Romans 12:9 gives us directives for this fruit of goodness: This is the definition of goodness. True Christian goodness will make us take part in the sorrows and joys of each other. |
February 19, 2025(1 event) February 19, 2025 ![]() Faithfulness is the quality that renders a person trustworthy or reliable, like the faithful servant (Lk 16:10-12). Faithfulness is believing that God is Who He says He is and continuing in that belief even in the trials and tribulations of life. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith: Faith is the assurance that what we hope for will come about and the certainty that what we cannot see exists. Romans 10:17 also defines faith: Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It is straightforward. Faith is hearing God and believing what He says. God has spoken! Do you believe what He has said? He has given to you and made you exceeding great and precious promises. Do you believe Him? If you do, this faith is the foundation of all you hope for. It is the conviction of what you have heard but do not see. Hebrews 11:1- 40 are faithful examples of those who, having heard God, believed what He said. They hoped for things they could not see. Noah believed the truth of “things not seen as yet.” (Hebrews 11:7) Others saw the promise “afar off.” (Hebrews 11:13) Moses “endured as seeing Him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27) Abraham “rejoiced to see Christ’s day: and he saw it, and was glad” (John 8:56) These examples are part of a vast cloud of witnesses surrounding us, and throwing off everything that hinders us, especially the sin that so easily entangles us, let us keep running with endurance the race set before us, fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of the faith who, given the joy set before Him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2) These elders bore testimony through their faith, and the whole chapter of Hebrews 11:1-40 encourages us to endure the great combat of suffering. Jesus is our one perfect example, excelling and embodying the blessed and beautiful examples of the various features of faith in Hebrews 11 and 12 and demonstrating His glory to our open eyes. Now run your course with faithfulness, looking to Him Who, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and on the right hand of the throne of God has taken His seat. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. May I exhibit, each in my humble sphere, like precious faith, that I may be enabled to endure and wait for the day when I shall inherit, in glory, all the promises that grace has given to me? With an understanding that there will be no rest until I reach heaven, I press on toward the mark and continue my journey for truth and my path to understanding God’s will for my life. I pray fervently that I would be a powerful witness for Him and bear much fruit – “one hundredfold.” I genuinely believe it is His will for all to be productive for Him, so it is a sure thing that if I ask to be fruitful and multiply, He will allow it. |

Proverbs 25:28 - Like a city with breached walls is a man without self-control. Self-control is controlling emotions, desires, or expressions in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations. Self-control refuses the indulgence of our foolish desires, and we find the liberty to live as we should. Solomon preaches to us here in the entire chapter of Proverbs 25 about the vanity of the world and that it cannot make us happy, of the depravity of sin, and its inevitable tendency to make us miserable. He was in a cave along the Dead Sea by Engedi, hiding from Saul, who was in hot pursuit of him and his small army of vagabonds. In Psalm 57:1 David is crying out to God for mercy: Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in Thee: Yes, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. Through strong faith, David's prayers and complaints are turned into praise. His heart is fixed and prepared for every event, focused on God. Psalm 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. David's situation would typically call for great anxiety and panic. Yet, we see him calm, firm, resolved, and established when he begins to exalt God in his prayer: Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Thy glory be above all the earth. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Psalm 57:4-5 And then his resolve is spoken: My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Psalm 108:1 says the same thing, which helps us see that his heart is absolutely established toward God: O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise even with my glory. I am resolved to trust Him, serve Him, and praise Him. Though I have many trials to disturb me, and many anxieties to toss me to and fro, I am resolved and settled in my mind and will not be driven from it. I will praise God in the morning, and my heart will be strengthened and prepared for any conflicts of the day. |

The Lord is my Shepherd. This is a shepherd who will leave ninety-nine sheep to go and find the one lost. And when He finds the lost lamb, He rejoices with great joy, gathers him in His arms, and carries him close to His heart. (Matthew 18:10-14) John 10:11 I am the good Shepherd. A burden of affliction is apt to make the Christian's hands hang down, and his knees grow feeble, to dispirit him and discourage him; but against this he must strive, that he may better run his spiritual race and course. Faith and patience enable believers to follow peace and holiness, as a man follows his calling constantly, diligently, and with pleasure. Peace with men, of all sects and parties, will be favorable to our pursuit of holiness. But peace and holiness go together; there can be not right peace without holiness. Vanity and Vexation of Spirit. The vanity of the world cannot make us happy; the vileness of sin and its certain tendency will make us miserable. No created good can satisfy the soul. That happiness is to be found in God alone, and this doctrine must, under the blessed Spirit's teaching, lead the heart to Christ Jesus. How do I present God's truth to hearts that need it or pour comfort into closely shut spirits? Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Psalm 13:2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Wisdom not only knows how to get and have wisdom but also how to use it. The wise man - the man of understanding - knows how to draw wisdom out for practical and ready use. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. No creature can hide from Him, but everyone is exposed and helpless before the eyes of the one to whom we give a word of explanation. The Holy Scriptures are the Word of God. They transform a proud soul into one that is humble, and a depraved spirit into one that is meek and obedient. Sinful habits, which may feel natural and deeply rooted in the soul, are sliced away by this divine sword. The Scriptures reveal to people their thoughts and intentions, exposing the flaws within them, the negative principles that drive their actions, and the sinful motivations behind their deeds. They show sinners everything that lies within their hearts. Come boldly to the throne of grace. Mercy and grace are the things we want; mercy to pardon all our sins, and grace to purify our souls. In this epistle to the Ephesians, Paul encourages us to know the extent of the Messiah's love. He goes to his knees to pray to the Father of our Lord Jesus, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name, to pray He would give us, according to His glorious riches, strength in our inner being and power through His Spirit. (Ephesians 3:14-16) Believer, you should not be discouraged and faint upon your tribulations. We are given strength from the Spirit of God in our hearts and souls and the strength of faith to serve God and do His will. If this is written in our hearts and God's love is shed abroad (Romans 5:5), then Jesus dwells there. Where His Spirit dwells, there He dwells. How desirable to have this sense of the love of God fixed in our souls! Dimensions The breadth of the love of God shows its extent to all nations and ranks. It is the comfort of His loving embrace that surrounds you with compassion. The length that it continues from everlasting to everlasting is courage, hope, and strength. The depth is saving those who are sunk into sin and misery; This love penetrates the soul and awakens me to the beauty of His creation. The height raises them to heavenly happiness and glory and exceeds all our expectations. Open your heart to these dimensions of the Holy Spirit. Is His power active in your life? Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the devil's strategies. For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm. For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm Stand firm, therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and being firm-footed in the gospel of peace. In addition to having clothed yourselves with these things, having taken up the shield of faith, with which you can put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one, also take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray in the Spirit with every kind of prayer and request. Likewise, be alert with your most diligent efforts and pray for all the saints. Pray also for me so that when I begin to speak, the right words will come to me. Then I will boldly make known the gospel's secret, for whose sake I am an ambassador in chains, desiring to declare the gospel as boldly as I should. Spiritual warfare in our day and time is very real. Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our daily trials and tribulations. James 4:7-10 Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw night to God and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. Be afflicted and mourn and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. I Peter 5:6-9 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. My battle is not against flesh and blood, but against Satan and his demonic forces that use flesh and blood to oppose the Lord's work. If I hope to win the war and finish the work, I must use the spiritual equipment God has provided Reality: No one is perfect on this earth - only Jesus Christ - and we will all make mistakes. If we have dedicated our lives to Christ, He has set us on a path to build our character and make us vessels that will carry His living water to others. If we are not producing fruit, we are useless to Him and will be cut off. We will walk through the fire. We will be tested. Do not deny God or ask why; seek His face at all times and know His grace is sufficient in every situation. Ephesians 6:10: Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Putting on the whole armor of God (emphasis WHOLE) is our strategy for war; it *is* war as we stand against the devil's wiles. I will no longer be a coward. I will fear no more. I will stand up to the enemy, only equipped with the full armor of God. I will stand for the One who truly loves me and even gave His life so that I could live.
