February 24, 2025(1 event) – ![]() Isaiah 35:3-4 (ISV) Strengthen the feeble hands, and support the stumbling knees. Say to those with anxious hearts, 'Be strong, do not be afraid! Here is your God. He will bring vengeance, He will bring divine retribution, and He will save you. The feeble and faint-hearted are encouraged. This is the design of the good news God has given us in Jesus Christ. Fear is weakening but God says to us, "Be strong," and gives us hope for One who is mighty who will take vengeance on the powers of darkness, and give abundant comforts to those that mourn. He will come and save and give those who were troubled, rest Hebrews 12:12 Strengthen your tired arms and your weak knees, and straighten the paths of your life, so that your lameness many not become worse, but instead may be healed. A burden of affliction is apt to make the Christian's hands hang down, and his knees grow feeble, to dispirit him and discourage him; but against this he must strive, that he may better run his spiritual race and course. Faith and patience enable believers to follow peace and holiness, as a man follows his calling constantly, diligently, and with pleasure. Peace with men, of all sects and parties, will be favorable to our pursuit of holiness. But peace and holiness go together; there can be not right peace without holiness. Where persons fail of having the true grace of God, corruption will prevail and break forth; beware lest any unmortified lust in the heart, which seems to be dead, should spring up, to trouble and disturb the whole body. Falling away from Christ is the fruit of preferring the delights of the flesh, to the blessing of God, and the heavenly inheritance. Henry, Matthew. February 25, 2025(1 event) February 25, 2025 ![]() Matthew 6:19-21 (ISV) Stop storing up for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But keep on storing up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal, because where your treasure is, there you heart will be also. Matthew 6:24 (ISV) No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches. Hosea 10:12 (ISV) Sow in righteousness in your own interest reap in gracious love, break up your own unprepared ground; It is now time to inquire of the Lord, until He comes to pour our righteousness for you Haggai 1:5- Now this is what the Lord of the Heavenly Armies, says: "Carefully consider your ways: You have sowed much but have reaped little. You have eaten but don't have enough to become satisfied. You have drunk but don't have enough to become intoxicated. You have clothed yourself but don't have enough to keep warm. And the hired laborer deposits his salary in a bag full of holes." What you cultivate you will grow and produce. Sowing to your flesh means sowing and developing your sinful desires. The seeds we sow are linked to our thoughts and actions. Romans 8:6 (ISV) To focus our minds on the human nature leads to death, but to focus our minds on the Spirit leads to life and peace. That is why the mind that focuses on human nature is hostile toward God. It refuses to submit to the authority of God's Law because it is powerless to do so. Indeed, those who are under the control of human nature cannot please God. Walk by the Spirit Galatians 5:16 (ISV) So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never fulfill the desires of the flesh. For what the flesh wants is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to the flesh. Live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit Galatians 5:25 (ISV) Since we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also be guided. The Bible, God's Word, is our guidebook to life. It is a Spiritual feast of guidance for your life's path. Colossians 3:1 gives a good starting point: Seek to despise earthly things and desire those that are heavenly. Find comfort and safety in the One who provides streams of living water to the soul by the influences of the Holy Spirit, through faith in Him. Immerse yourself in God's Word, praise, worship and prayer and you will sow to the Spirit, reaping the bountiful harvest of everlasting life. |
February 26, 2025(1 event) February 26, 2025 ![]() Proverbs 20:5 The intentions of a person's heart are deep waters, but a discerning person reveals them. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and Spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Vanity and Vexation of Spirit. The vanity of the world cannot make us happy; the vileness of sin and its certain tendency will make us miserable. No created good can satisfy the soul. That happiness is to be found in God alone, and this doctrine must, under the blessed Spirit's teaching, lead the heart to Christ Jesus. How do I present God's truth to hearts that need it or pour comfort into closely shut spirits? Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Psalm 13:2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Wisdom not only knows how to get and have wisdom but also how to use it. The wise man - the man of understanding - knows how to draw wisdom out for practical and ready use. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. No creature can hide from Him, but everyone is exposed and helpless before the eyes of the one to whom we give a word of explanation. The Holy Scriptures are the Word of God. They transform a proud soul into one that is humble, and a depraved spirit into one that is meek and obedient. Sinful habits, which may feel natural and deeply rooted in the soul, are sliced away by this divine sword. The Scriptures reveal to people their thoughts and intentions, exposing the flaws within them, the negative principles that drive their actions, and the sinful motivations behind their deeds. They show sinners everything that lies within their hearts. Come boldly to the throne of grace. Mercy and grace are the things we want; mercy to pardon all our sins, and grace to purify our souls. He kindly invites us to the mercy-seat, where grace reigns. We have the boldness to enter into the holiest only by the blood of Jesus our Advocate. |
February 27, 2025(1 event) February 27, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 3:17-20 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God. In this epistle to the Ephesians, Paul encourages us to know the extent of the Messiah's love. He goes to his knees to pray to the Father of our Lord Jesus, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name, to pray He would give us, according to His glorious riches, strength in our inner being and power through His Spirit. (Ephesians 3:14-16) Believer, you should not be discouraged and faint upon your tribulations. We are given strength from the Spirit of God in our hearts and souls and the strength of faith to serve God and do His will. If this is written in our hearts and God's love is shed abroad (Romans 5:5), then Jesus dwells there. Where His Spirit dwells, there He dwells. How desirable to have this sense of the love of God fixed in our souls! Dimensions The breadth of the love of God shows its extent to all nations and ranks. It is the comfort of His loving embrace that surrounds you with compassion. The length that it continues from everlasting to everlasting is courage, hope, and strength. The depth is saving those who are sunk into sin and misery; This love penetrates the soul and awakens me to the beauty of His creation. The height raises them to heavenly happiness and glory and exceeds all our expectations. Open your heart to these dimensions of the Holy Spirit. Is His power active in your life? James 4:2 You have not because you ask not. Pray for strength for your inner man, a new depth of love, spiritual perception, and spiritual fullness. Be filled with this fullness of God and be satisfied. |
February 28, 2025(1 event) February 28, 2025 ![]() Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life In the seventeenth century, a revolutionary discovery was made by William Harvey, which revolutionized medical science and the circulation of blood. Two thousand seven hundred years earlier, the author of Proverbs recognized the importance of the heart for maintaining life. The heart symbolizes the center of one's innermost being. In Matthew 15:19 Jesus says that it isn't what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out of a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Keep thy heart with all diligence. Set a strict guard upon your heart and soul. Keep it from doing hurt and getting hurt. Because out of it are the issues of life. Seek from the Lord Jesus that living water, the sanctifying Spirit, issuing forth unto everlasting life. Heed the Biblical warnings of: a double Heart - Psalm 12:2 a hard heart - Proverbs 28:14 a proud heart - Proverbs 21:4 an unbelieving heart - Hebrews 3:12 a cold heart - Matthew 24:12 and an unclean heart - Psalm 51:10 Search me, O God, and know my heart - Psalm 139:23 |
March 1, 2025(1 event) March 1, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 6:10-20 Be strong in the Lord, relying on His mighty strength. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the devil's strategies. For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm. For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm Stand firm, therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and being firm-footed in the gospel of peace. In addition to having clothed yourselves with these things, having taken up the shield of faith, with which you can put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one, also take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray in the Spirit with every kind of prayer and request. Likewise, be alert with your most diligent efforts and pray for all the saints. Pray also for me so that when I begin to speak, the right words will come to me. Then I will boldly make known the gospel's secret, for whose sake I am an ambassador in chains, desiring to declare the gospel as boldly as I should. Spiritual warfare in our day and time is very real. Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our daily trials and tribulations. James 4:7-10 Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw night to God and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. Be afflicted and mourn and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. I Peter 5:6-9 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. My battle is not against flesh and blood, but against Satan and his demonic forces that use flesh and blood to oppose the Lord's work. If I hope to win the war and finish the work, I must use the spiritual equipment God has provided Reality: No one is perfect on this earth - only Jesus Christ - and we will all make mistakes. If we have dedicated our lives to Christ, He has set us on a path to build our character and make us vessels that will carry His living water to others. If we are not producing fruit, we are useless to Him and will be cut off. We will walk through the fire. We will be tested. Do not deny God or ask why; seek His face at all times and know His grace is sufficient in every situation. Ephesians 6:10: Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Putting on the whole armor of God (emphasis WHOLE) is our strategy for war; it *is* war as we stand against the devil's wiles. I will no longer be a coward. I will fear no more. I will stand up to the enemy, only equipped with the full armor of God. I will stand for the One who truly loves me and even gave His life so that I could live. He is the good Shepard - He knows me and I know Him (John 10:14) |
March 2, 2025(1 event) March 2, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Christian armor is made to be worn at all times. We are engaged in spiritual warfare, so if you are not spiritually equipped, you will be a target, not just of human enemies, nor even our own corrupt nature, but an enemy with a thousand ways of deceiving unstable souls. Resist him, and he will flee. James 4:7 (ISV): Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you. James 4:8 tells us how to do this. Come close to God, and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you doubled-minded. If we give way, he will gain ground. If we distrust the Lord, our leader, or the armor He has given us, we give him an advantage. Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Troubles neither cause nor show any reduction of His love. Whatever believers may be separated from, enough remains. No one can take Christ from the believer; no one can take the believer from Him, and that is enough. |
March 3, 2025(1 event) March 3, 2025 ![]() Judges 4:4-10 Deborah, a woman, prophet, and wife of Lappidoth, judged Israel during the rule of Jabin, who had oppressed Israel for twenty years. The commanding officer of his army was Sisera, and he had 900 iron chariots ready for war. Deborah prophesied and judged under a palm tree between Ramah and Bethel in the mountainous region of Ephraim, where the Israelis would approach her for decisions. She sent word to Abinoam's son Barak from Kedesh-Naphtali, summoning him. She asked him, "The Lord God of Israel has commanded you. He has told you, 'Go out, march to Mount Tabor, and take 10,000 men from the tribes of Naphtali and Zebulun. I will draw out Sisera, the commanding officer of Jabin's army, along with his chariots and troops, to the Kishon River, where I will drop him right into your hands.'" "If you go with me, I'll go," Barak replied. "But if you don't go with me, I'm not going." She responded, "I will surely go with you, but the road you're about to take will not lead to honor for you. The Lord will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman." Then Deborah got up and went with Barak toward Kedesh. Barak called out the army of the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali to march on Kedesh, and 10,000 men went out to war with him, along with Deborah. Sisera's confidence was mainly in his chariots. Deborah's, God's command and promise that theirs was the victory. If we believe God goes before us, we may go on with courage and optimism. Follow Him fully, and don't be overwhelmed by the difficulties you meet when resisting rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places. Judges 4:14 "Get going!" Deborah told Barak. "Because today's the day when the Lord has dropped Sisera into your hands! Look! The Lord has already gone out ahead of you!" So Barak left Mount Tabor, followed by 10,000 men, and the Lord threw Sisera, all the chariots, and his entire army into a panic right in front of Barak. Then Sisera abandoned his chariot and escaped on foot while Barak chased the chariots and army as far as Harosheth-haggoyim. Sisera's entire army died in the battle – not even one soldier remained. Barak went down, though disadvantaged, with confidence and dependence on the Divine power. When God goes before us in our spiritual conflicts, we must make a physical and mental effort to rouse ourselves, and when, by His grace, He gives us some success against the enemies of our souls, we must lose no time giving thanks to the Lord for the victory. Judges 5:1-31 is Deborah's song of praise to the Lord with a full heart. Her soul had been a part of this fight, and through the grace of God, the strength of her spiritual enemies was trodden down and fell before them. Battles in our day and time consist of conflicts which include: Strife and disharmony which disrupts relationships. Bitterness Anger Guilt Insecurity and anxiety for the future. Learn from Deborah how to deal with these spiritual enemies. Cry out to God for deliverance. Victory through Him is assured, but we must seek His direction and put forth an effort to see it through. There are seven steps to victory: Obey God's instructions, trusting His plan. His Word is our guide; if you read it, He will show you the way. Do not focus on the strength of the enemy. Be confident in God's Word. Refrain from being deterred by those who lack spiritual vision. Do not compromise with the enemy. Give praise and glory to God for the victory. I am determined to finish this race strong. I must be courageous, bold, and sure, just like Deborah, remembering that she didn't save Israel – she only gave them the courage to believe that God would save them. |
March 4, 2025(1 event) March 4, 2025 ![]() A Christian rules his life with an excellent spirit if he chooses to face up to and endure unpleasant experiences rather than avoid or escape them. Ephesians 6:13 Take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm. The purpose of spiritual warfare and the armor of God is that you may be able to stand. It is impossible to stand against the attacks of spiritual enemies without the strength of God and the protection of spiritual armor. As we live out our calling, mission, and course to run, Satan will attempt to stop us with attacks and intimidations. But we are to stand. Stand against every trace of spiritual opposition. God has given us a way to stand: Grace: Romans 5:2 Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace by which we have been established, and we boast because of our hope in God's glory. Gospel: 1 Corinthians 15:1 Now I'm making known to you, brethren, the gospel that I proclaimed to you, which you accepted, on which you have taken your stand. Courage and strength: - 1 Corinthians 16:13 Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong. Faith: 2 Corinthians 1:24 It is not that we are trying to rule over your faith, but rather to work with you for your joy, because you have been standing firm in the faith. Liberty: Galatians 5:1 The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. Unity: Philippians 1:27 The only thing that matters is that you continue to live as good citizens in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Messiah. Then, whether I come to see you or stay away, I may hear all about you - that you are standing firm in one spirit, struggling with one mind for the faith of the gospel. The Lord: Philippians 4:1 Stand firm in the Lord, dear friends Perfect and complete in the will of God: Colossians 4:12 that you may stand mature, completely convinced of the entire will of God. Our path as believers will find us spiritually attacked, but we must not be afraid. We must not feel sorry for ourselves but be watchful and alert. Don't even think about retreating. You are more vulnerable if you fall, so keep on your armor and press on. A Christian leads his life with a commendable spirit by confronting and enduring unpleasant experiences instead of avoiding or fleeing from them. |
March 5, 2025(1 event) March 5, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm, therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waste. Truth is the belt that girds all the other pieces of our armor to our soul and is mentioned first for that reason. The Word of God is the truth and the good news for our salvation. Ephesians 1:13 You, too, have heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in the Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. The Word of truth is the belt of the Mind. Acts 17:11 [The Bereans] were more receptive than those in Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive the message, and every day, they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if those things were so. Like the Bereans, apply yourself seriously to the study of the Word and receive it with a ready mind and open heart. Embrace Truth with Sincerity 1 Timothy 1:5 The goal of this instruction is love that flows from a pure heart, from a clear conscience, and a sincere faith. God’s purposes involve sincere faith. If He has freely given us the truth, He will provide a hand to hold on to it. Cherish His truth and courageously profess it. Philippians 1:10-11 That you may be able to choose what is best and be sincere and without offense until the day when the Messiah returns, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus the Messiah so that God will be glorified and praised. Hold firmly to His Truth. Hebrews 10:23 Let us continue to hold firmly to the hope that we confess without wavering, for the one who made the promise is faithful. Fight the Good Fight for Truth 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, man of God, must flee from all these things. Instead, you must pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness. Romans 10:10 For one believes with his heart and is justified, and declares with his mouth and is saved. To have our loins girt about with truth gives the empowerment and holy boldness from heaven to draw forth the Word of the Spirit and go onward, ready to conquer the enemy. Be continually filled with the love of God, and love for His truth will become your heart’s desire. Stand, unshaken, in the faith of God’s truth against the enemy. Meditate on God, His Word and the mysterious truths of the gospel will open up to you as streams turn to rivers and rivers turn to seas. |
March 6, 2025(1 event) March 6, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 6:14 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness. Truth is our foundational garment and must be well intact. The breastplate covers and protects the heart against evil and deceptive attacks. What is righteousness? Righteousness is defined as behavioral and moral perfection. God, in all His perfect character, is the standard. We cannot attain this perfection. But righteousness is possible by being cleansed of sin by Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The believer possesses the righteousness of Jesus because - 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us so that God's righteousness would be produced in us. We can stand before God in clean white garments thanks to Jesus' exchange for our sins for His perfect righteousness. We are renewed and act upon new principles, rules, and goals. Our hearts are not just set right; a new heart is given to us. We are the workmanship of God, created in Christ Jesus for good works. How to Put On the Breastplate of Righteousness Seek Live in His Shelter Delight yourself in Him Walk in His steps O Lord, this day I pray - Search me and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24) |
March 7, 2025(1 event) March 7, 2025 ![]() Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Spiritual readiness must be as greaves or armor to our legs, and to stand their ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee. Be encouraged that this perfect peace is inward and outward and peace with God. It is peace of conscience at all times and in all events. Trust the Lord for that peace, that portion, which will be forever. Whatever we trust to the world for, it will last only for a moment; but those who trust in God shall not only find in Him but shall receive strength that will carry them to that sanctity which is forever. Let us then acknowledge Him in all our ways and rely on Him in all trials. |
March 8, 2025(1 event) March 8, 2025 ![]() Psalm 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I will awake early. I will praise Thee, O Lord, among the people, and sing unto Thee among the nations. Thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and Thy truth unto the clouds. Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let Thy glory be above all the earth. |
March 9, 2025(1 event) March 9, 2025 ![]() The gospel of peace is the great instrument by which God works the will and heart of man into readiness and preparation to do or suffer what He calls to. Luke 1:17 He is the One who will go before the Lord with the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous and to prepare the people to be ready for the Lord. Stand ready for God's service no matter the cost. Preparation for the Gospel is preparation for suffering. Gospel peace works so mightily that it makes me glory in tribulations. I must be prepared to face any trial and be ready to face the trouble that might come. The peace that the gospel brings and speaks to the heart will prepare it to wade through any trial or trouble that meets a believer in his path. Readiness = A Heart full of Grace. The gospel of peace proclaims freedom to those bound with fears and besetting sins. Let those weary and heavy laden under the burden of sin, find relief in Jesus, shake themselves from the dust of their doubts and fear, and loose themselves from the shackles that bind them. The price paid by the Redeemer for our salvation was not silver or gold or corruptible things but His precious blood. Seek victory over every sin. Desire holiness for the glory of God, who freely gives salvation and sets us free. Put on your shoes of peace and walk through this life prepared. A Christian rules his life with an excellent spirit if he chooses to face up to and endure unpleasant experiences rather than avoid or escape them. |
March 10, 2025(1 event) March 10, 2025 ![]() Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Let all who wear the name of Jesus Christ get this shoe of preparation on and keep it on to be ready to follow the call of God's providence, even if it leads to suffering. Suffer for Him now to reign with Him later. He dwells in the heart by faith, and grace in the soul gives the heart a new character; the soul is alive to God and has begun its holy joy, which shall endure forever. The righteousness of Jesus Christ secures the soul from death. From this, we see how much we must walk after the Spirit, not after the flesh. The Holy Spirit regenerates the soul by bringing in a new and Divine life, even in a weak condition. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. This verse is a powerful directive. The Lord gives us the fruits of His mercy every day. We should give of ourselves all that we are, all we have, and all we can do. Wading through Troubles in True Peace, Joy, and Cheerfulness. Hebrews 11:33-34 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. How sincere are you in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ? Examine and set your heart and spirit right to be steadfast with God. Pray for a suffering spirit, for Christ's sake. Plead earnestly with God for this gift because suffering work does not come into our minds naturally. The flesh loves to be pampered, not crucified. If He leads you into a trial, He stands ready to carry you through it. James 1:2-5 (ISV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But you must let endurance have its full effect so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Consider the troubles you might face and work through your response based on God's promises. Be confident in the haven of His promises long before sufferings come so you can readily walk through them in peace. We should not pray so much for the removal of difficulties and afflictions as for wisdom to use them correctly. Accept God's will daily. In the morning, entrust your whole heart and ways in God's hands. In the evening, look back and see how perfectly God has kept you in that trust. If you do experience disappointment, watch for God to fill that emptiness. Do not rest until God's name has been fully vindicated in your heart. Keep a close reign on your thoughts. Psalm 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance and God. Be Prepared for Trials The Gospel of Peace prepares the believer for suffering. Walk over these rocky paths of life with shoes prepared by Jesus Christ so that the obstacles are never much felt. Proverbs 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. |
March 11, 2025(1 event) March 11, 2025 ![]() Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:6 Without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Romans 5:1 Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. In the long history of ancient warfare, shields and swords were vital for offense and defense during deadly and gruesome battles. Soldiers would be walking targets without them. Roman shields were overlaid with linen and leather to absorb fiery arrows, which also protected other armor pieces. The integrity of the shield was necessary. The time to mend any holes was before the battle. Diligence was the key to proper maintenance. The Christian believer's shield of faith is meant to quench the enemy's fiery darts. Every part of the Christian is preserved by faith. Faith is believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 16:30; Ephesians 1:7) Habakkuk 2:4 The just shall live by faith. Faith in God's word can alone enable us to wait with patience for the fulfillment of His promise. Faith is the secret spring of my strength. |
March 12, 2025(1 event) March 12, 2025 ![]() 1 John 5:4 Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Faith is the key to victory; it serves as the means and the spiritual armor that enables us to overcome challenges. Through faith, we cleave to Christ, in contempt of and in opposition to the world. Faith purifies the heart, freeing it from the worldly desires that can gain control over our souls. It has the indwelling Spirit of grace, greater than he who dwells in the world. The true Christian overcomes the world by faith, recognizing - by observing the life and actions of the Lord Jesus - that we are called to reject and transcend worldly influences. With the Spirit of grace living in us, we possess a strength greater than any influence of the world. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world, you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world. |

In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul gives an account of his labors and suffering, not out of pride, but to honor God, who enabled him to suffer for the cause of Christ. Read of his dangers, hardships, and sufferings, and take note of his patience, perseverance, diligence, cheerfulness, and usefulness in the middle of all these trials. 2 Corinthians 11:24-29 Five times I received from the Jews 40 lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with a stick; once, I was pelted with stones; three times, I was shipwrecked, and I drifted on the sea for a day and a night. I have traveled extensively and have been endangered by rivers, robbers, my own people, and Gentiles. I've also been in danger in the city, in the open country, at sea, from false brothers, in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, through hunger, thirst, many periods of fasting, coldness, and nakedness. Besides everything else, I have a daily burden because of my anxiety about all the churches. Who is weak without me being weak too? Who is caused to stumble without me becoming indignant? My trials and tribulations seem insignificant compared to Paul's, so I study his patience, courage, and firm trust in God and learn to think less of myself, for I am as a flower fading and grass withering. Isaiah 40:6-8 The voice said Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withers, the flower fades: because the spirit of the Lord blows upon it: surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever. Yet, God's love for the world is shown in His redemption of it by giving His only begotten Son. John 3:16 Be encouraged that God will help those who humbly depend on Him, those who wait upon Him, and those who find strength in His Divine grace. They speak themselves to be works of God's hands, for they must have a Creator who is eternal, infinitely wise, powerful, and good. The counter-changing of day and night is a fantastic proof of the power of God and calls us to observe that He forms the light, creates the darkness, and sets the one against the other. This verse is an excellent proof of God's love for us. It is God who came out to us. We did not seek after Him. We did not love God, and our hearts were filled with hatred. But he met our every need. We need life, and God sent Jesus Christ so that we might live through Him. Because we were lost and guilty sinners, it was necessary that a propitiation be made for sin, and God sent His Son to effect that atonement. The Hebrew word atonement comes from a root meaning "to cover." This word speaks of an expiation, a settling of the sin question, so that one who was once lost and guilty may stand in the presence of God without one charge against him. All his transgressions are covered by the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ - covered so effectually and entirely that they will never be found again. The preserving obedience of faith in Christ is the race set before us, where we must either win the crown of glory or have everlasting misery. What hinders me from running my Christian race? What takes me from my motive for running? What gives me the power to overcome discouragement? When weary and faint in my mind, let me recollect that the Holy Jesus suffered to save me from eternal misery. My thoughts will strengthen holy affections and keep under any fleshly desires by steadfastly looking to Him. What are my trials to His agonies? Furthermore, we had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them for it. We should submit even more to the Father of our spirits and live, shouldn't we? For a short time, they disciplined us as they thought best, but God does it for our good so that we may share in His holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time but painful. Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; You will deliver me from trouble and surround me with shouts of deliverance. All have sinned, and one of the consequences of sin is guilt. However, we can be grateful for these feelings of guilt because they encourage us to seek forgiveness. When a person turns away from sin and puts their faith in Jesus Christ, their sins are forgiven. Repentance is essential to the faith that leads to salvation (Matthew 3:2; 4:17; Acts 3:19). It's time to move on once sin has been confessed, repented of, and forgiven. We who have come to Jesus, the Messiah, have been made new creations in Him. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" Part of the "old" that has passed away includes the memories of past sins and the guilt they caused. Unfortunately, some Christians tend to dwell on their former sinful lives, clinging to memories that should have been long buried. This behavior is unproductive and contradicts the victorious Christian life that God desires for us. There's a wise saying: "If God has saved you from a sewer, don't dive back in and swim around." |

(vs 25) Romans 6:12 Don't let sin rule your mortal bodie so that you obey their desires. Stop offering the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness.
